In Out of Africa. A beautiful African song but I can't seem to find a credit for it. Thanks in advance.

Whoa, judging by the (lack of) response and my googling ... I think my favorite song on this soundtrack is an un-credited job. Wondering if it's inclusion was inspired in anyway by Simon's Graceland African content .... or is the timeline too tight .... ?

Wiki says OOA was 1985, and according to
Paul Simon's 'Graceland': 10 Things You Didn't Know
"Accompanied only by longtime engineer Roy Halee, Simon arrived in [South Africa in] early February 1986, less than a year after first hearing the music."
    So methinks no go.

Yeah, no way - but slight chance of vice versa for the inspiration though.

I'm pretty sure it was a school choir, not sure if it was actually African or Scottish/English though..

I was thinking women and/or children. If it was a school choir - would this be a factor in not at all crediting these vocals (circa: 1985)?

Answering my own question here, but I guess it would depend on the choir. Surely The Vienna Boys Choir, as an example, would qualify for a credit in such a production.

I think the only similar situations I can think of is the children's choirs on Pink Floyd on The Wall (We Don't Need No Education) and Abba on the Voulez-Vous album (I Have A Dream, live shows and studio). Were the choirs credited on those?

I don't think the Brick in the Wall/Dream Kids we're credited but at least we know where they were sourced and that the institution(s?) got paid. But the difference being with Siyawe is that the choir are the lead/only vocals on that track.

Another Brick in the Wall - Wikipedia

The recording is notable for being the only ABBA song to include vocalists other than the four band members; the final chorus features a children's choir from the International School of Stockholm. In the UK, "I Have a Dream" was held off the No. 1 spot by Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" which also features a children's choir.

Perhaps this is a jurisdictional thing having been recorded in Africa(?) circa:1985. Question: If it were filmed in the USA in 1985 would
we have been informed of the identity of the vocalists?
