Who was your favourite 'teenybopper' act?

Many of us have at least one.:D

I grew up in the 70s which was rife with them. Marc Bolan, Donny Osmond, David Cassidy, Bay City Rollers... I could go on.:)

One thing that's never changed is that there have always been acts aimed solely at the kids. Some of them break out of this and go onto successful adult careers, but many don't.

So, who was your favourite(s)? Do they still hold a place in your heart, or is the 'grown up' you mortified you once bought a rosette with Les McKeown on it.:D

I go back as far as the 70s but this thread is for teenyboppers through the ages. Post favourite songs, pictures, videos and memories of them if you want.

Don't know if he fits the description, but to me it has to be Alice Cooper in my teens. Wayne and Garth feel the same way :agree:

Shaun Cassidy was oddly popular in the States, wasn't he? I don't think he made any impact at all in the UK.

While only famous in Japan, the only 'teenybopper' act in my collection are these guys:

Well, Alice wasn't really what I had in mind, but different strokes and all that.:D

We were talking about Bowie being one of those heart throbs like David and Donny in the 70s in another thread.. Of course he would have been, but he was always so much more than that, wasn't he?

Did you go so far as to have a Dave Hill haircut?

    Not for the faint hearted.

The Hardy Boys TV show helped him out quite a bit, also.

Absolutely, glad he got the Ziggy character out of the way.
Of some of these teenybopper acts I never quite understood what made them irresistible, but music magazines had their pictures, silly stories and giant posters every week. And when did it really end - round the time after Grease or Racey :shh:, or did it just continue ?

Suzi Quatro did seem to help a lot of teenage boys ‘find themselves’ in those awkward early teenage years.

The nostalgia is too much to handle, this show was a favorite on Cartoon Network as a kid.
