Oh I remember Kenny, another quickly manufactured pop ‘act’ trying to take a ride on the coat tails of the singles chart.

Has there ever been a single music/light entertainment show were Lulu was never featured as a guest?

I described that haircut as the Receding Prince Valiant.

Lulu, Cilla, Dana, Lynsey De Paul.. TV variety shows were their bread and butter. They were mainly on them to plug their latest singles. Which often would flop. Poor Lulu worked like a dog in the seventies yet only had one hit single in the entire decade. It’s lucky she had Freemans:)

The pop girls had it tough in the UK in the 70s...Even Suzi had her share of misses..

I was late teens when they were big, but I actually kind of liked this single called ‘Tonight.’ It had a cello on it, and a denser, sixties production, with them doing self-reverential, ‘Glass Onion’ type lyrics.

Well, probably more like The Beach Boys song ‘Endless Harmony.’

Quite a lot of unpleasant falsetto in Kenny’s singles.

I don’t generally mind a bit of falsetto, but theirs was quite poorly done.

Apart from The Bump, can't honestly remember hearing any of the songs for around 40 odd years!

I do remember the bass player with the low voice.

I'll have to check with my brother how many of the songs he remembers, and indeed if he still has any of those RAK singles. :D

Were Kenny part of the 7ts roster? It feels like they would be.

While I have some teenbopper stuff in my collection I bought them as an adult. I never went through a phase where I was enamored with a tween aimed act. I always thought that was more of a girl thing, unless you count KISS. They were big in my elementary school years but had just another hair band by the time I was in high school. In fact Animalize was the first record of theirs that I had.

I did watch Kaptain Kool and the Kongs on Saturday Mornings, but never even knew they'd put out a record until I found and bought one earlier this year.

They certainly were! This is the CD that my brother should get!! Not sure he'd want to spend £15 on it. From memory, he had the first five singles and despite not hearing them for 40 odd years, I can remember the first seven, plus track 9!:hide:

@Bobby Morrow if you fancy a bargain, there is unusually a cheap 7TS Showaddywaddy debut CD on a certain auction site, ends tomorrow and has no bids!

    Still no bids, Bobby!

Perhaps Trocadero, £4.99 or offer + £1.50 is what you really want! The 7TS CDs don't come along s/h very often........

It's a good deal, but I'm trying to start 2018 off well. I bought so many discs last year something's got to change...

I still haven’t bought any Wads CDs, but have had a disastrously prolific start to 2018... I seem to get worse with each passing year.

I would watch it with them and was surprised to find that I enjoyed some of their music!

Hit songwriter Cathy Dennis wrote many songs for them.

Of course DG qualifies - she's the definition of a teenybopper act!

Crud, she was a teenybopper! :D

I think I questioned it because a lot of teenyboppers didn't write their own stuff but she did. She happened to be a teen, but I've never considered her a teenybopper per se. I threw her into the mix for those that do, like yourself :)
