Lately I've become fascinated with no limit Texas hold 'em poker, and love to watch The World series of Poker when it's on the travel channel (tonight at 9, I'm pretty sure) I love the psychological and skill aspects of the game. It's exciting to watch someone bet a huge amount of money, and try to bluff to win a pot. Anyone else like to watch or play poker??

I've been watching some of it. Lately ESPN has had a show, too, and has been running it every night.

I have watched this, too, both on Travel Channel and ESPN. And I usually ask myself two questions: 1) Why am I watching this?, and 2) What would happen if you couldn't wear sunglasses at the table? :D

I still haven't found the answer to either question but gosh darnit, I keep watching.

I love watching and playing about any card game. It amazes me the stuff some of these people do. After watching both the Travel Channel and ESPN I prefer ESPN's show because it seems less of a show and more of a display of cards as a sport.
I usually stick to euchre, 500, and blackjack. I can play these games for hours on end. That includes poker, but I don't play it enough to be as serious (if you can call it that) as with blackjack.

As a side note, tonights action on The Travel Channel is in Tunica, Miss. To tie this into music, I heard the Guess Who play there once a few years ago while I spent an evening at the tables.

What's the name of that kid who was the child phenom of poker and won the World Series a few times then got really strung out on coke and came back and won it again only to die a few years ago? Help me out here.

It's addictive ... I'm not much of a gambler (except ... occasionally with Jeffrey) ... but I love to watch it. :)
