    Ian Gillan (Deep Purple, Gillan)

Roger Waters (Pink Floyd)-love those crazy animalistic screams on Careful With That Axe, Eugene

Dan McCafferty (Nazareth)-to me Axl Rose sounds like a watered down Dan.

Your right! I forgot about JCS. :righton:
Purchased soon after its release only because of Gillan's involvement.

Aw man! I forgot about Roky Erickson. Roky sends chills down my spine - awesome!!

  9. Ian Gillan is worthy no doubt about it.......but

Rob Halford of Judas Priest IS the best screamer period.
Don`t matter what genre it is...he wins hands down.

Kudos for the guys that mention Eric Adams as well.......

I'm going with Steven Tyler as there are a lot of screams that I can hear in my head.
Roger Daltrey, all I hear is the one from Reign O'er Me... "LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVE"

My pick (at least for slightly more recent screamers) Little Richard was the first that came to mind. "Twist and Shout" Beatles version is a pretty amazing display too,

ANYTHING here is turned into a Beatles thread which drives me nuts, really. I try to ignore those posts that have nothing to do with the thread's subject.

See the intro to "Highway Star" for evidence of this.

But Steven Tyler is a contender in this competition.
