    The inventor, of course.

And that French woman from the 1960's who played on Rod McKuen's La Mer, etc. What's her name?

The soundtrack to THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL used a theremin.
Not sure about FORBIDDEN PLANET; might have come up with something different for that one.

Got mine today, had to drive forty miles round-trip to get it. Set a new land speed record, just under an hour, and that's factoring in all the time I spent checking out the store's other titles. 'Course I thought at least one store in my area would stock it--geez, it's only a CLASSIC, ya know?--but Noooooooooooooooooooooo. And my brother was of no help, so I went on a hunch and scored.

I'll have to remember to review it tomorrow in its own thread; but you'll love it. A good one for your son to watch, too, as I'm sure you know. Several important messages tossed around throughout, all worth living by.

Only maniacs like us would drive 40 miles for a DVD or Cee Dee! Man do I relate to that!

It's a pity that we don't see as many theremin posts these days. ;)

Fahrenheit 451 - no idea who played it.

The live performances of Good Vibrations featured the otherworldly stylings of Mike Love. I'll have to look up the studio player.

Re: Re: Who's Your Favourite Theremin Player?

The Truffaut film is not only underrated--messy and strange as it is--but that Herrmann score is magnificent. IIRC, the theremin is heard mainly during the opening credits, right?(and fans note: there are no visual credits on the screen anywhere in the release print--all credits are spoken . How many movies get away with that?!?).

BTW, Johnny B, as a Junior Blue Gort, can't you force that threadstarter to come up with something? It's the least he can do!:D Or fake it, anyway...

Ian, I'll give you the opportunity to "Name the Guy in Lothar & the Hand People Who Played the Theremin".
