Linda Ronstadt covered Love Is A Rose, but I believe her version came out before the one on Decade.

I've never heard a Neil cover I liked better than Neil. I can understand why others like playing his songs. But to do them better? Futility!

Radiohead have covered On The Beach, Tell Me Why, After The Gold Rush and Cinnamon Girl, and they are all amazing.

I was at the White River show when Jonny and Thom started goofing around with the riff to “tell me why”, then they worked up the whole song a few days later in LA.

The two Borrowed Tunes Canadian compilations contain some great covers. The Cowboy Junkies' version of "Tired Eyea" is fantastic. Also Crash Vegas doing "Pocahontas" is pretty good too.

Maybe this one has been mentioned. I haven't gone through the whole thread yet. This has to be one of the earliest Neil Young covers:

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a hypothesis destroyed so thoroughly. Lots of stuff here to check out.

Famously played in American Beauty during a scene between Kevin Spacey and Mena Suvari that is even creepier now.

It's been covered a few times. I'm partial to this version by Mercury Rev.

I knew there were a lot of Neil covers out there, but so many here are new to my ears. I'm guessing that's the case for a lot of people. There are no Young covers readily familiar on the order of some of the Dylan covers (Hendrix's All Along The Watchtower, for instance). And other than Heart of Gold, there's nothing like Nick Lowe's "What's So Funny About Peace Love and Understanding" which has been covered a couple dozen times.
