Lennon was upset because he thought the track was controversial and wanted to be linked to the controversy.

i always liked the song for what it was

  2. Yes, Lewisohn wrote that it's Ringo (take 5).

I like it, but it does sound more like something Iggy and the Stooges would have come up with.

This should have been shelved until 50 years later as White Album sessions bonus material. It was not worthy (like several other WA tracks of mucking about) of release as a legitimate track. This was Beatles' (Paul's) ego out of control, thinking they could do no wrong, with probably too many wives, girlfriends and hangers-on there to indulge them.

The White Album is probably the perfect argument for "less is more."

I never once thought it even had a sexual connotation until I read that it did in some Beatles bio. I always just figured that it was snacks you could buy from a street vendor in Liverpool. I don't know if Paul's ever commented on it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was never even meant to be risque.

Paul McCartney is quoted in the book, Paul McCartney: Many Years From Now:

It was always amusing to see if we could get a naughty word on the record: ‘fish and finger pie’, ‘prick teaser’, ‘tit tit tit tit.’ The Beach Boys had a song out where they’d done ‘la la la la’ and we loved the innocence of that and wanted to copy it, but not use the same phrase. So we were looking around for another phrase, so it was ‘dit dit dit dit,’ which we decided to change in our waggishness to ‘tit tit tit tit,’ which is virtually indistinguishable from ‘dit dit dit dit.’ And it gave us a laugh.

    How many Beatles?

At least 2 because the song asks why don't "we" do it in the road. :D

Yeah exactly that. The white album is so much greater than the sum of its parts. I find it odd to pick out a track for analysis. It's a 90 minute adventure, not a series of individual moments which inevitably lose their power when taken out of context.

I became a Beatles fan in the early 80s aged around 13. No internet and an english-danish dictionary left over from my 10-years-older sister. I thought it was snacks too.
My sister had gotten an english boyfriend and moved to England. Once me and my mom and dad went to visit them and one day (of course) we went to the local fish and chip shop. I asked my sister's boyfriend if they had fish and finger pie. He said, he was quite sure they didn't. And then he did a mime with his fingers showing what it meant. My cheeks flushed!

The blue album era is superior to the read album era and WDWDITR is an excellent song.

Nobody actually sings "prick teaser" though, even if that was the implication.
