Why is the Reprise label called... Reprise?

Maybe because steamboats ply the rivers, and river water is what Jack Daniels originates from? In that case they should have just put a bottle of Jack Daniels on the label instead.

 

Actually, there's some very 'cute' pics of Frank (Zappa, that is) singing the contracts w/ the Reprise 'head-honchos'! I think they were in the "Old Masters Box II".

 

Gene Vincent and Wanda Jackson...I guess it's fair to say two artists is indeed "not far," but what great taste with the few they did sign!

 

Precisely the two I had been thinking of when I posted. Doesn't qualify as a load of cretinous rock acts if you ask me.
