My nephew, who is now 9, has been to all of them, two more than me. It went well. Spent some time in the museum and plenty of other running around areas on the grounds. Story pirates entertained him. be sure to stay out of the comedy theater! (they do have signs warning about that). The only problems for him was the ear-splitting volume of Yo La Tengo and Dream Syndicate, so he and his dad made a quick exit to inside the museum. I don't think there will be many acts with that volume level. definitely bring earplugs though.

Thanks - great to know! We are definitely going with my sister's family with similarly aged kids. 4 adults and 4 kids ages 6-8. Looking forward to it and appreciate the earplugs tip.

We end up with some sort of rotation throughout the day whereas if there is a band I know my brother in law is really into and I am not that fired up for, I volunteer to babysit with a museum trip inside or some other activity and vice versa. By the time of the Wilco headlining sets, it's a little screen time on the phone/ipad for him then asleep on the blanket.

I'll be picking up Jeff's new one. Hope to hear him play some songs from it a week early at Eaux Claires Festival. Anybody else going? Wilco, Tweedy, and Autumn Defense are playing!

Just putting this out there simply because it is such a badass version. Posted it for my bandmates to consider it as a cover and as usual get a lukewarm response. Somebody tell me I'm not crazy thinking this rocks.

That kind Sir, is pure gold.
It looks like they'll be playing 'Being There' in full on the Friday night at Solid Sound. Possibly my favourite album of all time. And I'll be in the USA the week after. Got too much going on at work during that week so I can't take leave. So close, yet so far.

It really does. The Nudie suit, someone hitting as hard as Glenn, someone running those lead fills throughout, the blasts from the Tohdle Prohs, the Skynyrd whistle into the guitar break ... you don't *have* to have all those things in place ... but a couple wouldn't hurt. :)

    Detroit show

    Interesting stage backdrops

    Focusing on the playing

Plenty of newer nuggets mixed in with old favorites

The crowd went ape s$&/ over Kidsmoke

Mentioned the show was a warm up for Solid Sound and that Being There was the top request album

Tom Waits just guested with Mavis at her show at Lagunitas Brewing in Petaluma, which would have been something. I wasn't there but a friend caught it. Bummer on the Wilco touring hiatus, but hopefully it means they'll be working in the studio for at least part of the year.

Going to Solid Sound 2017 was the right decision then. ;)

I'm due for a Schmilco listen.

I saw Mavis Staples at Outside Lands 2011 and she spent as much time talking about The Band as she did singing. Maybe I'm exaggerating.

Jeff Tweedy is playing another solo show in London in February next year. The last one a few years back was stellar - any Wilco fan in reach of the capital should try to attend.

Wilco Roadcases are not available on their site for some reason. I was finally going to download Solid Sound '17 this weekend, but couldn't.
