I'm looking to stream music onto my TV. If I have a computer that has a network card on my PC running on the wireless network, will WMC recognize my other computer and display my files on the new computer or not?

Or do I have to have a stand alone media extender (which are expensive and seem outdated for the most part).

Still trying to decide between the WD Live, the Squeezebox, or maybe this option.

    Thanks!

I don't use it myself, but I believe they will recognize each other assuming they are both Windows. Windows 7 systems have this functionality all built-in.

Another PC app option is an app like XBMC, to use as a media server and client. You definitely don't need a new piece of hardware if all you want to do is setup a media server / client between two PC's. Squeezebox, going on reviews here, is probably the best option of all, but it's also the most expensive since it's separate hardware.
