Thanks very much, Peter!! I got this set in the mail today and I realize now that I saw this very same release in Borders about 6 months ago and they wanted $49 for it (plus tax)-- I'm so glad I didn't buy it now! A first, usually I'm reading about something I passed up that's now worth 100 times what I saw it for! This is another great Aussie deal you've turned us on to (the Beatles EP set @ $49 coming to mind, too.)

You guys do realize most Australian pressed CDs are inferior to US/Euro copies in almost every way ?

You get what you pay for...

    :p

    That's cool.

The weblink only showed "local" in the description.

It's about time more online sellers disclosed where their product was sourced from.

AFAIK here in NZ the only online retailer to do that is Real Groovy Records.

Was this title available in the "Paul McCartney Collection"? I picked up most (if not all) of those import discs. I don't think I ever saw Wings over America.

I do however think it is my favorite live CD (either that or Supertramp's Paris).

Thanks for the heads up. I've never had a copy of this album. What a deal!

It only gave the total in AUS$. Don't know what the exact final number is. How delightfully careless of me.

I think it was about $13 with shipping, Sckott. I can't access my confirmation email at the moment.

Said free shipping for newcomers. ... But regardless, it's still a wonderful deal.

"As a valued Chaos Agent we would like to offer you free shipping on
your first order as an incentive to trial the shopping experience at
Chaos. This offer is only valid for in stock items and must be used before
the end of next month to shipping addresses within Australia and NZ. If
you've just placed an order your shipping costs have already been
    deducted!"

You know, I just went there and it looks like they raised the price (or the dollar got a lot worse since I bought mine)! It says $16 US in smaller type now. It was $9, if I recall when I ordered... or maybe their stock on that title is dwindling down to the end.

As Sckott said, it's still a hell of a deal thanks to Eagle Eye Peter.

Michael, the description also says "slim double," thankfully, Peter said to ignore all of that. It's the old double-wide case that 2 cd sets used to come in "back in the 80s." (to quote Peter)

    Hi Michael,

I think when Chaos says "local" they mean it's from a local distributor, not necessary made locally.

Also, I can't really agree with what you said about Australian pressings being inferior in every way, EXCEPT for the packaging (quality of paper etc.).

I have no great loyalty to Australian made product, believe me, but in this digital age I think the music will sound pretty much identical to the
European and US versions. In fact a good percentage of Australian CDs are sourced from Europe anyway and packaged with Australian made booklets.

It was with LPs in the 60s and 70s when the problems with inferior Australian pressings became a problem for me.

So, somebody DID read my original post! I watched it languishing for a week with no responses.

I think the price increase occured when it went from "in stock" to "on order". I guess they're probably not certain that they can still source it for the same price. Either that, or they had a sudden rush of orders from the US and realised they had under-priced it!
