Wings Venus and Mars - Double Wally

Not familiar with vinyl versions but seen a double Wally (WLY) today and am curious if this is one to get.

 

The double Wally is OK but I like the remastered vinyl that's currently available better.

Can I ask what is the "double Wally (WLY)" you refer to (I'm not familiar with it)?

In my country a Wally is not a complimentary label for someone. Is the "double" referring to the Venus AND Mars?

 

I think he is saying that it will have "WLY" in the deadwax on both sides of the record.

 

There was a 1975 variant mastered by Wally Traugott. However, it doesn't seem to be much more collectable than other variants.

The "Wly" / "Wally" refers to Capitol Records mastering guru the late
great Wally Traugott. Here in the States Wally has gained numerous accolades for his work on Beatles, Solo Fabs, Beach Boys, you name it... if they were on Capitol he may have worked with them. The "Wly" and "Wally" are his personal hand written name on the run out grooves. Never heard of the term double wally... but that would mean he did a 2 x LP to me.

A "double Wally" means that BOTH sides were cut by him.... sometimes plates got mismatched

 

My real problem is finding Wings Over America with all 6 sides Wally or Ken Perry. I only find combos...
