Wings: Wild Life & Red Rose Speedway (Expanded Reissue)

Discussion in 'Music Corner' started by Vaughan, Oct 18, 2018.

  1. Where did you preorder from? If it's Amazon and you have two day delivery, sure. They try to ship for release day delivery (unless you pick the slowest method back).

These are my top 5 most anticipated tracks from these sets:

    1. Bip Bop (remaster)
    2. Bip Bop (rough mix)
    3. Bip Bop (live 1972 version)
    4. Bip Bop (home recording)
    ...
Hmmm.... There must be something else too, but I can't think of anything offhand ... ;)

Speaking of "Kisses", I would prefer that he write an album of torch songs for Diana Krall to perform...

'Home Recording', okay I'd like to hear it but first here's what goes best with Wings

^^^ Mazzy bought Wild Life when it came out, so he takes precedent. I had to play catchup a few years later.

Also bought it on release day, at Garnick’s Music in Lowell, MA. They’re still there, and sell used vinyl. They also sold me my first Beatles boot, Get Back to Toronto, when that first came out.

  13. Yeah, I was born a month after it was originally released so I had to wait to purchase it until 1987, when it was rereleased on CD in the US.

Just wish the out of tune sounding guitar solo that spoils Some People Never Know could be fixed in the mix.

  18. It could easily be fixed in the mix. But in a remaster? No.

I'm afraid that's impossible now. It'd be like Nilsson trying to sing "Without You" on one of his post ***** Cats albums.

  22. Was listening to Love is Strange. Forgot how good the percussion is on that. Jazzy! With reggae and Latin tones too. The drums and cymbals sound great, too.

Are the Little Lamb Dragonfly and Get On The Right Thing the mixes intended for Ram?

I found it interesting that both Paul and Bob Dylan at this stage decided to release a who gives a **** let's see what happens album... Paul's mistake with WL was making it a single album -
if it had been a double like "Self Portrait" the oddities and unusuals would have felt better supported - Mumbo = Wigwam?
