Haha... He didn’t get the nickname Schaap the YAP for nuthin!!

 

Schaap always insists on the best fidelity for everything he plays on his shows, and will frequently play his own 78s and sometimes compare different pressings/versions. I once heard him analyze a 30 second clip from audience tape of a Charlie Parker solo for like, forty-five minutes... THEN he played Parker’s solo from a different night and compared the two bar-by-bar. I mean, I LOVE this kinda stuff.
