Anything after album V, is pretty much crap. YMMV!

Too many to mention. They have many great songs. And more bad ones.

If You Leave Me Now....Jesus that put a lot of people off exploring the band prior to 1976...twee, bland MOR...

    That was easy

  7. I think picking on Cetera is a bit easy.

Cetera's stuff may be schmaltzy and at odds with what the band did best IMHO but they have solid melodies, chord progressions and production. I'd go with the remake of "25" and quite a few of their albums a,free "Hot Streets" (and that has some stinkers, too).

There are some that completely lack any inspiration (pun intended) and not all of them came from Cetera prior to his leaving.

David Foster helped the, remain successful but not necessarily relevant.

There are songs written by others that would stink up ANY album by ANYone.

Only good record was the 1st.

Don't know if it is the worst because I haven't heard every song they ever did, but I always thought "Harry Truman" was a kind of weak song for a single.

I love "Free Form Guitar"..........and the 1st piano half of "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?"

    I don't have any albums past V.
From watching the later part of the CNN special, there were some disco/80s based things that I didn't care for......and the "25 or 6 to 4" remake.

Those 80s ballads are easy targets, but some of those songs on Stone of Sisyphus are much, much worse.

    Harry Truman.

There are few songs that actually make me angry when being subjected to them. That one might top the list.

Oh yeah, this one is awful, but tied with another track from the same album, "Skin Tight". There are some pretty awful songs on Hot Streets and 13 as well but I've only listened to those albums two or three times so, fortunately, I don't remember them.

  15. Hot Streets has maybe a couple of good songs.
why? I will admit it's not the best song but I can't think of a song I get angry at. Annoyed, yes, angry no.

It's the audio equivalent of a root canal. I'd rather sit through Free Form Guitar 10 times in a row than to hear Harry Truman even once.

I wish David Foster had a chance at producing that. :goodie:

Half of VIII would fall into that category for the Kath/Guercio era, I'll take "Free Form Guitar" over the "25 or 6 to 4" remake anyday.
To my ears, the Foster era is unlistenable MOR pablum.

Foster would replace Kath with Steve Lukather, and add with a bunch of sequencers and drum machines.

That's not half as bad as I expected it to be. There's no misguided raps in it or anything as cringe-worthy. I'll take this over "Don't Stand So Close To Me '86" by The Police. It sounds like a mid-80's cover by Genesis!

This thread is so obvious. Like shooting fish in a barrel.
What kind of real useful info can anyone get from this?

I like the "25 or 6 to 4" remake. Of course, I'm not a Chicago fan...

The only thing good on the remake of 25 or 6 to 4 is Pankow's trombone work.

My nominee is Birthday Boy from Chicago XIV.
