Definitely. I like the other Bloodhound Gang cover in the thread, too. Kind of a Lucian Freud vibe to both.
The updated cover is much much worse, the original is kind of bad ass. Though not if Paul wanted a commercial hit.
Yowza...I've lashed together quick covers for some of my own music albums in three minutes using the Paint program that look better (not to say more professional) than that!
I love the quaint and serene setting, which I assume befits the music -- coupled with the wicked double-neck guitar that is more associated with evil heavy metal rock gods. I'm waiting for South Park's Christmas Woodland Critters to make an appearance!
They're all terrible! Hasn't been a decent album cover since Who's Next! Get off my lawn! I actually like some of the newer ECM covers (which, I admit, look a lot like older ECM covers)
I just returned from Italy. It will take me a while to get the image of my wife's uncle in a speedo out of my head.
Because it has an attractive face [who is it] on the sleeve that would make me turn it around for a proper look? I'd imagine vinyl copies will get stacked incorrectly with the image the correct way around?
This cover is marginally ok I guess. But honestly the whole minimalist, anti-art, I’m not trying to be art that it is art thing - has become so prevelant that it’s lost its charm. The stupid upside down cover is a good case in point of how much the shark has been jumped. They take a highly polished portrait and uuhhh... flip’er upside down! Now it’s art! Oh good Lord, it’s just so vapid it makes me angry.
