another artist that has been plagued by bad cover art choice is Graham Parker - it is almost as if he tries really hard for people not to buy his albums
weird thing is, both their faces look photoshopped onto other people's bodies, even though I'm sure that wasn't the intention.
Isn't that the norm for a Rolling Stones compilation? Try GRRR, Jump Back, Made in the Shade, Forty Licks... Or the covers of their live albums: Hyde Park Live, Still Live or worst of all: No Security. Grrr, indeed!
That is SUCH a terrible photo. All it tells me is that these two probably COULD take a good photo, but didn't. Lindsey's frowning like he bit a lemon, and Christine is positively snarling. Sheesh. Either smile like you're having fun or look serious, but not this. Also it tells me that Lindsey can fit into skinny jeans, but shouldn't.
I have little interest in this album but this is one of the better covers that has been posted in this thread. I don't particularly like her implied "I'm a bad girl now" pose but at least it's designed and photographed well.
You forgot: 3. It's a great cover. I love stuff like that. It's pretty absurd/goofy, and maybe a bit creepy--which are aesthetics I like a lot, and it also has eye-catching, interesting formal composition Obviously I have different tastes in visual art than most folks, though. I typically can't tell what the heck folks don't like about the examples of bad cover art that they post, and people seem to almost never post the sorts of covers that I don't care for.
Lindsey’s jeans look weird. Like one of those pictures where they’re painted on and he’s actually nude!
