I really don't have much use for many of Paul's numbers of this time such as "Rocky Racoon", "Ob-Li-Di", or the very awful "Honey Pie", nor Ringo's "Don't Pass Me By" and "Good Night".

Plus, Paul was dead in this era.

    I like it.

Yellow Submarine probably should have been a double EP like MMT. However, my son who is 18 and a Beatles junkie say he loves that orchestra music on side 2. I admit it's warm and memorable in a kitschy sort of way. I kick back, close my eyes and watch the animation flow by while I listen.

Only if a Blu Ray disc counts as a single album.

"A single album version of The White Album" is a contradiction in terms. If it's a single album only, it can't be The White Album.

The White Album will fit on one disc. Just speed it up a bit.

No, the definition of a money grab. If you throw on unreleased takes and tracks with new mixes, just call it “The 1968 Sessions” or something like that. To call it “The White Album” when it isn’t is just stupid.

Only if they called it 'Beatles '69' (please disregard the old-year '68 in the example below)... and it was a Capitol label, vinyl-only release, and cost $7.99.

Came across these EP like playtapes on discogs researching if the album had ever came out split in two parts somewhere on the planet (and there is no mention on discogs or google of a Vol. II but it must exist somewhere you'd think):

I love double albums in all their overindulgent, experimental messiness warts and all. It'a what they were made for! No way would I be interested in a "single album".

Think I've listened to the orchestrated tracks on YS one time only. I don't even own the album (though I should probably hunt down the used LP just for the studio cuts).

When I visited Liverpool in 1984, among the albums I picked up was the one disc "Best of Tommy" by The Who. It's an official release. I didn't own the full album at the time, so it seemed reasonable. It's not actually that bad, lol. Although the plot is rendered almost incomprehensible, of course.

I wouldn't have 100% ruled out a single disc White Album a few years ago. Marketed to younger people who don't already own the double album and wouldn't necessarily want to sit through Revolution # 9 and Wild Honey Pie. But would it make sense now, in these streaming days? You can just buy the songs off iTunes individually anyway.

No - it the White Album. That means 2 discs, chock full of Beatles tunes including a handful of songs that you don’t like but the Beatles fan next to you loves. And the ones he hates, you like.

I have a single LP version of the White Album. Thankfully, it's contained within the complete 2 album set.

No, of course not. I've bought this album enough times over the years, I'm not going to shell out more money for half of it.

Of the first 50 threads on this forum, currently 8 are about the white album.
