I have the R S300 in my kitchen set up. Sounds great. I think there is a thread about them.

I installed a R-S700 receiver in a customer's sun room a few months ago. It sounded great. I have the extended IR codes in the NEC protocol format if you need them. Yamaha was very nice to give them to me.

I hear Duran Duran sounds really good through the Yamaha Yamaha.

I have the Yamaha A-S500. If you don't need the tuner check it out. It's got better specs.

But I love the display. If the amp were just as beefy.....

Listened to that one and the 700 during hours of speaker trials. Both sound very good and are recommended. The 700 was 500 bucks, very reasonable, and worth the extra vs. the 500. It had deeper bass and better dynamics when a-b'd on the same speakers.

Great ! Thanx for the tip. But I'm running 80 wpc through my Klipsch towers and the volume is almost out of control, so I think the 700 would be overkill in my 12x12 room. Even with my other 60wpc amp controlling volume is tricky, esp with concert dvds. The 500 has has an on-display volume indicator in dbs which I can take note of for my every cd/lp/dvd (anal who ?)

Oh; and the 500 goes for U$ 850 down here.
