Yellowstone (TV Series 2018– ) - IMDb Looking forward to it, even though the reviews haven't been that great. Also looking forward to returning to the greater Yellowstone/Teton area in September!
Kind of like an updated "Dallas" adapted to a big-time cattle-ranching operation in Montana - i watched the first episode, will watch a few more, but it is not of the calibre of SHO's "Billions" or even HBO's "Succession". It is a bit more soapy, but it may develop - the story line has already setup for some pretty heavy drama.
I have found Successions to be a big disappointment so far. Billions has gotten better each season and a very well done show. I am hoping Yellowstone is a show that is worth watching.
Yeah, Successions is a pale shadow - i mean, between a brilliant cast, Andrew Ross Sorkin, really smart writing and great story arc, Billions continues to engage, surprise and delight. (It looks like Rhoades is really “chucked” - or is he?) That said, Succession remains on my Sunday-nite / shifted viewing list. Yellostone threw a lot out there last week, so there is the foundation for some great - and topical - story-telling, and it may pick-up and start crackling over the coming weeks.
Loved the series and kind of hoped it went out with a bang...and then there will be a next series and the last episode just ended a bit low-key. I very much got the impression that it was a 1-season-series until three-quarters of the way in and the writers had to halt proceedings. But I may be wrong. And also: she will be back:
You might enjoy her role as a Celtic(?) queen in amazon’s BRITTANIA. It’s a really interesting take on the Celts, Druids and the 2nd Roman invasion in 43 AD. And they use Hurdy Gurdy Man over the credits, which somehow seems totally appropriate.
Seeing it has some killings, the odd dead horse and people hating each other than every Sam Peckinpah movie is a romantic comedy!
I heard about this series, but I don't get the network it aired on, so I didn't see it during its run... Saw it at Walmart the other day, so I picked it up for the $19.96 asking price... Figured for the price, I'd take a chance on it... Good to read that some of you guys seemed to like it, so it gives me hope it'll be decent...
I'm going to buy the blu-ray since it doesn't stream on anything that I have. $20 is a great price for a series and I get the sound in lossless wich is a huge deal compared to the crappy low bitrate 5.1 stream. So it's all good
The Blu-ray set has fantastic A/V quality and decent special features, including an extended interview with Kevin Costner. Season two returns this summer. Yellowstone: Season 1 Blu-ray Review - DoBlu.com
