Yoko Ono "Kiss Kiss Kiss" - backwards

This is definitely worth a listen:



Probably a coincidence, all of the very disturbing messages (which are spelled out in little balloons as the song plays sometimes, though you can clearly hear the messages plainly even when the balloons aren't spelling them out), but interesting nonetheless.

 

"This exorcism isn't working, Father Merrin."

"Come on then Regan, sing us a song!"

 

I hear (throughout the song) "and he got shot shot shot"

Also: "Sidewalks are for dying"

 

Considering the song was recorded for Double Fantasy, it's all coincidence. Reversing the word "kiss" x 3 will get you "sick, sick, sick!" every time.

 

The song is almost listenable backwards

 

This piece is supposed to have been inspired by Toru Takemitsu's "Vocalism AI".

 

I remember someone calling in to Steve Dahl and Garry Meier's show on WLS in Chicago in 1981 and playing a couple of clips over the phone. The spoken intro played backwards sounded a little like "I shot John Lennon" and a part after the line "I'm bleeding inside" sounded a little like "John Lennon lay dead." I'll have to check this out and listen again...

 

Gawd, too many people have too little to do. Who would think to play this song backwards even? Jeez.

 

In Amadeus, Wolfgang tells a hot babe to utter the phrase "Say I'm Sick" backwards.....

 

I once played her song "Touch Me" backwards. Sounded the same to me.

I always wanted to reverse her screams and warbles... I may do that one day. It may sound like she's crying in reverse.

 

I know why I do it: for sh*ts and giggles. Because that's all it really is. I don't think you'll get a deep meaning or even something scary from doing any song in reverse. Just gibberish. I sometimes love the music in reverse.
