you heard it here first - QUAD Phono stage

A friend of mine yesterday heard a new valve phono stage prototype , being manufactured by Quad and designed by Tim de P of EAR fame.

I know I'm sad but this is terribly exciting news and I just had to tell someone.
No idea of price or spec yet - but it was superb apparantly.

Tim de P has designed some of the other Quad electronics as well. I wonder how it compares with the EAR equipment.

BTW, have you seen the big Quad history, coffee-table book? Pure audio pornography.

 

SURE DID - bought it before it launched off a Quad Rep, didn't get it signed by KK .
the book is PURE porn ,what a great company, and maybe there is life yet in them.

I also heard a DVD player is on it's way!!

I love your Quad ESL 57s by the way. They were by far the biggest influence on my own designs (those and an IMF transmission line bass which I also grew up listening to).
