Hey everyone. We all know records are getting pricey these days. And some of us have what we want and some of us have dreams. If you won the lottery tomorrow, what is the first collectible record you would buy that you cannot afford today??

I myself would get a mint first press dark side, mint RL zepp & a mint 1st black and gold Parlophone Please Please me. And probably a mint sealed Alan Livingston butcher cover. And yes I’d keep that sealed!

    what’s ur dream record?

    That's a good one.

But I think mine might be a NM, 1st press, 1st father, 1st mother, 1st stamper black/gold label UK Parlophone mono Beatles Please, Please Me.

Black/gold or black/yellow? The black/gold was very early, with a frilly font, whereas the black/yellow has a bold, modern font.

How much is the lottery amount? Can't I just go buy a band or two?

Cmon. Now we’re getting into technicalities. It’s the big one. 800 million! Any record possible !!!
And yes u can buy a band. But depending on the band they may already be 6 feet under. No amount of money can dig someone out of that hole. At least not yet!

Nice. Congrats. You say it's beat to hell, but have you tried it with a true mono cartridge?

Yes. It’s sounds decent but continuous pops and clicks almost the whole way thru. Still semi enjoyable but It’s just a collectible these days to me to fill the collection. I use the mono remaster as my play copy these days. I have a first press of all the albums. But my pepper mono is clean and VG+ and it rivals the mono remaster.

I suppose not all are "collectible," but one-each of every pressing of Quadrophenia. Oh, and Government Mule Dose.

All right! That would make me a billionaire in Canadian funny money!

I don't actually do the collectible records thing though, so I might just try some larger-stakes poker and try not to turn into a whale
