You’ve also “liked” posts citing Tunnel of Love, Human Touch, Lucky Town, Working On a Dream, Wrecking Ball, High Hopes and maybe one or two others I missed. So, which Springsteen album was your biggest disappointment? And what did you think of Born in the U.S.A.?
I agree about Draw The Line. I don't think Night In The Ruts is bad either. Yep, Presence rocks hard. Love it. ITTOD I Like, but.... I was very disappointed at the time of release. Didn't sound like a Zep album. It has grown on me over time thankfully.
Blue Oyster Cult - Revolution By Night. I can't lie, this was very disappointing. BOC's first really lackluster album in my opinion. (No it's not Mirrors which I love).
That was not the best Soundtrack. The Bee Gees were great Frapton not bad either yet it just didn't live up to my expectations.
These come to mind: Chicago VIII Coming off a great album like VII, VIII was dull and boring. Minute By Minute It would have worked better as a Michael McDonald solo album since it didn't have that Johnson era Doobies vibe. Livin' On The Fault Line The band sounded tired and bored, nothing interesting. Even after a few listens nothing grabbed me musically Frank Zappa Versus The Mothers of Prevention. Other than "Were Turning Again", the whole album sounds rushed and slapped together as a excuse to issue that "Porn Wars" track. Thing Fish It was cute for the first 10 minutes but got boring fast. Strawberry Sound (Shonen Knife) After one listening to a bunch of soulless tunes, this album proves Michie Nakatani was the musical brain of the group. They need to bring her back.
Not really, seems like an overreaction. Bands have a peak and Rocks was that peak for Aerosmith. DTL wasn't a precipitous fall, it wasn't a bad album, it just wasn't as good as Rocks. And as was pointed out earlier had some standout tracks on it too. Still a good album.
Squeeze-Sweets from a Stranger- I'd been a fan since I bought the A&M comp "No Wave" and they really were improving by leaps and bounds from "Cool for Cats"-"Argybargy"-and their peak (for me) "East Side Story". This record seem to go deeper into the genre-hopping/dabbling they did with "East Side Story" with much lesser results. The songs weren't there, the production was clumsy and there was no flow to the album.
Agreed. And in hindsight it’s a wonder they were even able to come up with anything at all after Rocks...
