you get their entire discography, choosing the Beatles does not mean you get all their solo work as well unless your other picks where them. That goes for all the bands out there.

Don't worry it doesn't have to be on an ipod, you can have a vinyl table if you so wish and as many remasters of those particular aritsts/bands albums/singles as you like! If its on an ipod you'll have a charging device and a PC just for charging the ipod, how it works on an island I don't know but it does in a small shed like building.

    5 only!

Didn't we do this already? I had six before, so this time I'll take Beatles, Dylan, Stones, Zeppelin, Young. There's your five, my friend.

CD player with an ample supply of power + some weatherproof speakers and I'm good to go!

Frank Sinatra (plenty of good stuff there)

Benny Goodman (I would get to enjoy all the musicians and singers that performed in his orchestras and combos. People like Gene Krupa, Charlie Christian, Peggy Lee, Coleman Hawkins, Teddy Wilson)

    Genesis

    Vienna Philharmonic

    Marvin Gaye

the "desert island" thing has been so many times in so many variations that I think I at this point I may just want complete utter silence.

#5 undecided...Do I want "fun" music to dance to? Or more something with analytical lyrics? Hmmm...

I had a hard enough time coming up with five artists whose entire discography I can live with - Nick will do. Besides, with my SAS training I'll be finding my way off that rock.
