That's a good one, didn't get too much notoriety, but rocks with a lot of abandon. Looks like yours and mine are the only mentions on the forum, got a nice 2-LP reissue last year on Beggars Banquet in the US with their Peel Sessions on second LP. Looking Back On...2000
2000 was a good year for music. It's also when my musical tastes really started to evolve. Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory was kind of a big album for me. I was still into the boy bands of the day, but that album absolutely captured my imagination when I heard it. 3 Doors Down were a local group (I grew up about 45 minutes away from where they were from) so it was really awesome when they made it to the national stage and The Better Life was a fantastic album that is still one of my favorites today. The Better Life--3 Doors Down No Strings Attached--NSYNC Hybrid Theory--Linkin Park The Swiss Army Romance--Dashboard Confessional Black & Blue--Backstreet Boys A Day Without Rain--Enya 1--Beatles

I gave it a few spins yesterday - first time in about 15 years, I'd say. I know there was controversy when it was released, but, boy, if that album was released today - in our age of outrage - the internet would explode. And, though it's cartoonish and puerile...I laughed out loud on several occasions. The rapping, of course, is consistently amazing - brash and endlessly inventive. The album is probably a track or two too long (Amityville could probably go (D12 really weren't in the same league were they?)) but that's not unusual for a rap album. In conclusion then: it's a truly remarkable album, especially in that it was so provocative and yet simultaneously so popular.

I'm out of town and don't have access to the playlist by years that I keep so I'll have to wait until I return to post my list but reading through the previous lists I think I may be on a run of slimmer years.
