To this very day, if I see an awful movie, I'll say, "HATED IT."

yea, they did. After Keenan was forced out, it was a slow gradual decline. When Carrey left, it limped along after that for awhile. Keenan's sister joined full time, but she was no Keenan.
I really think Keenan had a solid grasp on what he wanted the show to be and when he was gone they lost their way.

There were likely a lot of things going on in the background as the show gained popularity that we don't know about. Was there ever a book written about it by chance? This was being broadcast back when Fox wasn't such a major player among the networks, and so the show didn't have that corporate weight behind it like SNL & NBC. Considering how bad SNL gets from time to time (talk about a show that's overstayed its welcome), it still gets support and stays on air. Nothing like that was given ILC, likely for some very obvious reasons, but strong network support might have made a difference.

I'd have to say it's a tie between Calhoun Tubbs and Homey the Clown, but reading through this thread I want to say ALL OF THEM. That was such a funny, cutting edge show for a while.

The Reverends Cash and Pathos were great. Carrey's Reverend Pathos was spot on with a lot of Swaggart in it. LOL

I missed In Living Color in its original run, but I had a period of time where I had to work 6 days a week, and I'd keep one monitor way off to the side tuned to KTTV (owned by Fox) and I would have the In Living Color reruns while I worked. I didn't get a lot done, because I was falling down laughing so much. Man, that was a funny, funny show.

I think everybody I knew would say "homey don't play dat!" whenever we didn't want to do something. Lots of quotable lines in that show.

I wonder how many fans knew that "In Living Color" was part of the NBC color promo, "the following program is brought to you in living color, on... NBC"? I think NBC gnashed their teeth when they realized their tag had been appropriated, but the Wayans used it in a funnier way than NBC ever thought possible. Man, who knew at the time that Jim Carrey would eventually become 10,000 times richer and more famous than those guys? Yikes...

Although, Damon Wayans didn't do too badly over the years.

That show generated so many catch phrases that still resonate in society:

    - "Hated it!"
    - "I give it [x] snaps in [random configuration]"
    - "Homey don't play dat"
    - "I'm gonna rock your world"
    - "I got [x] jobs, mon!"
    - "Lemme showya somethin'!"
    - "Mo' money, mo' money, mo' money"
    - "Wrote a song about it, wanna hear it, here it go"
