Since the other thread focuses on the MFSL CDs, I thought I would ask folks to list their favorite MFSL SACDs.
Bob Dylan Bringing It All Back Home Blonde on Blonde New Morning Blood on the Tracks Desire The Basement Tapes Others... Surrealistic Pillow Music from Big Pink The Band S/T Tapestry Takin' It to the Streets Bossanova
Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms Not compressed, the DR numbers are almost as high as the original releases. That is to say a still ridiculous DR19 on 'So Far Away'. The added Mofi 'signature' Bass really makes the album shine.
Some of them... Blood Sweat Tears s/t James Taylor s/t The Cars s/t The Pixies Rickie Lee Jones, Pirates Worst: Janis Joplin, Pearl
The two Cars titles, Pretenders S/T, Weezer (Blue) Sinatra Songs For Swingin' Lovers, Aretha's Gold I have high hopes for some of the titles that have been announced and maybe they might be released some day
Only the first album and Heartbeat City were released as SACD's - Shake It Up & Candy O were gold redbook CD's and I thought this thread is about your favorite MFSL SACD's
in the mail today, received the MFSL 2017 Derek and the Doms SACD.....I already owned the two previous gold editions....although the 2017 edition may be a touch better, not sure it is really all that so many were panting about....So many thought it out to be the gift from God...it's ok....but I could have done with out it...all I can say is ugh..egh. a lot of the same.
How exactly does this fit with the theme of the thread? Any favourites? For recent titles (in no particular order): Blood on the Tracks The Cars Heartbeat City Surrealistic Pillow Rides Again John Wesley Harding (Mono) Jack Johnson No Secrets Paradise and Lunch Boomer's Story The Captain and Me
Since the Music Direct acquisition, the quality of MFSL SACDs has been really hit or miss for me. I like the Sinatra titles a lot, but my favorite might be Miles in the Sky.
because the release is a FAVORITE.........but the new 2017 release was not a bombastic improvement, as was advertised.....but still loved, and will remain a favorite...so yes, it does belong on this thread.
I'm curious since you have the Dylan releases.... the two I'd be most interested in are Blonde and Blood on the Tracks. How would you rate those two compared to other CD masterings you have of the same titles?
No, the the thread is for you to post Your Favorite MFSL SACDs. Sorry, but unless you are posting your favorite MFSL SACDs, you are off topic.
