it's been a while since I've seen the movie, but as I recall, he *does* walk on the water, or so it seems. I think that's what prompted the original question.

    Hi,
I was very happy to get a copy of "THE PARTY" on dvd. For my tastes it's the funniest movie ever made period.

That's the way I remember it, too.

I don't look to deep into the meaning of this. "Mind over matter"? Believe and it will be yours? The power of positive thinking?

I think the whole movie - the unlikelyhood that "everything" worked for him, he became President - just led up to his walking on water.

Sort of like that old cartoon with the blind guy who merrily walked through traps, over bridges that collapsed after he had crossed... Mr. MaGoo (sp?).

In my teens I was fond of MAGIC CHRISTIAN, as I was an incredible Monty Python fanatic, and I was excited to see Cleese and Chapman credited with "Additional Material", and then to see them in the film.(This was years before there were any books about PYTHON, so their participation was a total surprise)I assumed that scenes that reminded me of Python had been written by them, but perhaps they weren't-such is the nature of hero worship. Only years later did I learn that C&C had written the entire script, only to have it thrown out and rewritten with some bits of their script left in. Anyway, my favorite "Panther" is STRIKES AGAIN.

'Being There' and 'Dr. Strangelove' are two of my very favorite films. But even a poor movie is made worthwhile by a Sellers performance. He was something special.

I'm All Right Jack - not only for Peter Sellers' performance but also the wonderful cast. British comedy at its best.

Being There, definitely. I'll nominate The Bobo and I Love You Alice B Toklas as sleepers.

I'm a fan of all the movies mentioned but there a couple I haven't seen, one of which is not often talked about. HOFFMAN is a disturbing little film apparently. I keep seeing it cheap, but don't know if I'd enjoy it. I will get around to THE MAGIC CHRISTIAN, as I'm looking forward to seeing Ringo and Peter together on film. I refer people to two books about Peter, MR. STRANGELOVE and THE MASK BEHIND THE MASK, neither of which are flattering.

The Magic Christian was really... offbeat. It's by no means a very good movie, but it's mesmerizingly weird. Great soundtrack, Yul Brynner plays the drag queen lounge singer and for what it's worth, yea, Ringo is in it.

I am guessing that folks who did not vote for I am All Right Jack have not seen it. There might be a funnier double entendre in movies than the polishing spindles line, but I can't think of one offhand.
