I still have two Tandberg receivers in excellent condition. Indeed, eBay does not have many Tandberg receivers listed these days ...

My favorite vintage receiver has to be Lynn Swann.

One more Sony. This is the baby of the early '70's STR60x5 series, an 18wpc STR6045.

I wish I had purchased one of these Sansui receivers back in the mid 70's. I bought a Pioneer quadraphonic receiver instead.

Look on the auction site for a nice receiver and seller.

Currently around here: Marantz 4300, Onyko TX-4500 and TX-810, Technics Sa-700 and Advent 300. Not really a receiver guy, buit a few have followed me home anyway. The TX-4500 gets the most play time in the kitchen system.

My dad bought a Marantz 2215 around 1974 .. so that's what I grew up with. I have a 2275 and a couple of quad models.

I've really been enjoying a recent addition to my lineup, a Sansui Eight Deluxe. Lovely big sound, very punchy but not overly so, great phono. Just a terrific receiver. Liked it so much that I picked up shortly after a Sansui Six, another of the 4 single digit group that Sansui issued in the early-mid 70's.

My all time favorite monster so far is the Yamaha 2040. Have had the 16.5, 11.0, sx 1250, sony v7, sansui 9090 db and a couple kenwoods. They are so reliable and friendly user too.

They're not as well known as some of their more recent larger receivers, but they are arguably some of the best receivers they ever made.
