I wonder why the Hank Snow medley from this show was never included in the cd box:
    The singing ranger vol 2?

Ordered a new box today...I'll announce once I receive it in hand. Getting real close to having my "mandatory" box list done. About 6 to go.

(Anyone notice a recent spike in prices? What's up with that? :sweating: )

Considering they've covered the Big D Jamboree and Louisiana Hayride, I wonder if BF will ever take the next step and do something relating to the Grand Ole Opry. A complete overview of the Opry's classic years would be an impossible undertaking, but maybe something like a set of the earliest or most historically significant recorded performances.

I wish they'd go back to artist centered boxes, but this would be on my short list.

Me three, but as far as V/A boxes go, that would be one of the better ones.

Giving my first spin to Roy Hogsed's Cocaine Blues. Great country swing and boogie, my only complaint being that Gene Dewez's accordion can be a little heavy-handed on some of the early cuts. It makes sense seeing as one-tenth of the songs Hogsed and his band recorded had "Polka" in their title, though thankfully none of those are included here.

The opening cut knocks it out of the park. It's a head-bobber AND a toe-tapper.

What a great idea. The overall recording quality of the classic Opry performances is a major advantage. Although I suspect most people are used to the concept of having a multi-artist set of performances, I wouldn't mind seeing artist-focused comps featuring "the best" of their classic performances.

Yeah, I've a few Live at The Opry discs and they tend to sound pretty good. I'd be happy go through the tapes for them, take a few years...
