I'm glad I'm not the only one! Something about this era just sounds like rain to me, and I have no idea why.

I voted for "Cucumber Castle", one of my favorite Bee Gees albums.

I will always have the softest spot for 2 Years On. It was the first Bee Gees album proper that I had as a budding teenage fan in 1989, after being swept away by the ‘60s Best Of compilation. That batch of songs has resonated with me ever since.

It was a very strong, and (dare I say) underrated run in the group’s history.

Possibly my favorite Bee Gees period.

    To Whom It May Concern
and Mr. Natural are pretty close for me, but TWIMC wins by a slight margin. I LOVE TWIMC . One of their finest albums imho.

The only album I like more is Main Course.

This period is in need of reissues with bonus tracks. Only know the hits myself.

Hard to choose between To Whom It May Concern, Mr Natural and Trafalgar. Mr Natural is fun, Trafalgar is dark genius, but my vote goes to the album my dad bought when it came out - To Whom It May Concern.

"2 Years On" is a bit feeble, "Life in a Tin Can" has too few songs, the other albums are really good, esp. "Trafalgar" and "Mr. Natural". Voted for "Mr. Natural" in the end.

While my vote stays with TWIMC, I do love "Alone Again" from 2 Years On:

Mr. Natural - the forerunner of the Bee Gees' string of successful 70's albums from "Main Course" to "Spirits having Flown."

I thought the MoFi reissue of "Trafalgar" was released only on vinyl.

No, I held it in my hands at an indie cd store circa '92 or so. Used for $29 so I gave it a pass, and regretted ever since!

I thought nothing could beat Trafagar in this period till I heard To Whom It May Concern.

You are correct. It was released by MoFi on vinyl and Gold CD in 1996.

I picked up all those CD's a few months ago - mostly made in Germany or W. Germany. They were in too good of shape to leave behind and I thought I might like a few songs. Before that I didn't have them in any form. Not my favorite songs by a long shot, but my favorite is either To Whom It May Concern or Mr. Natural.

I love this album and you are right, since it is the first one produced by Arif Mardin.

The song sequencing and singles choices did this LP no favors in trying to shake the "ballads" label.

Always loved that tune - bizarre they “played” that deep cut on a tv program. Shame it didn’t feature on any future tour set lists.
