Tough to narrow it to just five but these are the 5 that left the biggest impact on me and that I find myself returning to the most often.

    Apocalypse Now
    A Clockwork Orange
    Dawn of the Dead
    Chinatown
    Blazing Saddles

Bad News Bears is everything I remember about growing up in the 70's. It's the only home movie I have. "Thank you sir" is the funniest line/delivery.

    Salo?

First Pasolini title in the thread. Accatone, Mama Roma, Medea and The Decameron ('71) are all personal faves but the appeal of Salo remains a mystery to me. He seemed to have abandoned his preoccupation with standards of beauty altogether in favor of deeper implications of human motives. I guess its ugliness is part of the point. And a re-read of de Sade wouldn't hurt. :)

Monty Python's Life of Brian (Holy Grail was great as well, but I thought Life of Brian was better still.)
