The Escape Plan with Ahnuld and Stallone. 7/10

I have decided to wait for all of the movies that I want to see that have come out since them to be released on blu-ray. No annoying people in my living room when I watch them.

Gravity was the last one. I'm glad I made the effort to see it in 3D on the big screen. Plan on catching American Hustle in a couple of days time. $19 for a cinema ticket round these parts. More for 3D.

ANCHORMAN 2 and WALKING WITH DINOSAURS (3D) yesterday. ANCHORMAN was unfunny and way too long, WALKING was nice to look at, but sunk by lame voice-overs and an attempt to create a story out of
the migration and "trials of life" of the dinosaurs. Would have worked far better with a simple narration about the creatures, and no "personality" injected into them.

Gravity. Probably the last movie I'll see in a theater for a while. I usually use discount tickets bought with bonus points from one of my credit cards, but I'm almost out of them and can't afford any more.

The Hobbit, Thursday in 3d HFR in Regal RPX theater. Loved the film. Thought the picture and sound were amazing. However paying 5$ extra for what they describe as a premier movie going experience and finding the theater trashed has me rethinking how much I spend at this particular theater. I actually had to remove trash from the seats. I don't think anyone had even walked through the theater to check it after the previous showing.

I see far too many films in the theater. Around this time of the year (Oscar season!), I watch an average of three films a week.

The last was another viewing of The Book Thief, a film that failed to impress me. My wife read the book and didn't get to see it when I first watched it, so I went with her. :)

    Shalom, y'all!
