Hmm, I just checked Amanda's website, and it looks like she isn't opening for Jason for his entire tour (which I just assumed she was). Akron might have actually been the last date she opened for him. Oh well, Frank Turner is good as well. Jason played guitar on several songs during Amanda's set, but I doubt he'll be doing that with Frank Turner.

Anyway, Jason's set was great (though maybe a bit too short - around 90 minutes total, which included the encore). What song are you hoping to hear - Elephant? Dress Blues? Alabama Pines? None of those were played at the Akron show even though there were a lot of requests for Elephant. He did play several Southeastern songs though.

Children of Children. Elephant would have been good too. It doesn't really matter though. I'm sure it's going to be a fantastic show.

I was at the Danzig show on Saturday. What did you think? I honestly thought it was horrible. His voice was a hoarse, raspy mess with no power in his singing voice (he screamed enough though). The songs seemed too fast and had no real dynamics to them and the mix for the show was just awful. This was my first time seeing him so it may be par for the course with him live but I didn't come away thinking I'd ever want to see him live again.

They are playing semi-close at the end of the month. By semi-close I mean 1-1/2hr away. It would be tough. I have tickets for the Pixies 1-1/2hr in the other direction the next night. Game time decision.
