Have seen them 3 times. Those are the 2 prog recommendations, a lot of the other stuff veers into folk alt rock. Another suggestion is an album cut, at 12 min and def prog, “The Island”. Also “The Mariner’s Revenge Song”

I'm relatively new to the genre , although I'm old--- but I've absorbed a lot of the more popular bands ( Yes, Tull, Rush, Genesis) through the years and I like what I like. Apart from Pink Floyd and ItCotKC, all of these albums I discovered in my own.

Welcome to the world of prog, JoeF! Some fine choices there for sure. King Crimson’s Red is one of the most incredible albums I’ve ever heard. I’ve even got a t-shirt of the album. :)

Without thinking too hard, and omitting the Moody Blues from consideration:

Genesis - Foxtrot; Nursery Cryme; Selling England by the Pound
    Grobschnitt - Rockpommel's Land; Jumbo
    England - Garden Shed
Yes - Close to the Edge; Going for the One
Renaissance - Turn of the Cards

That's nine. I'd have to think before selecting a tenth. I'm not so much into later prog but I will point out that I like Nomzamo by IQ.

Thanks, but I own many of their albums (Stand Up all the way up to Heavy Horses). I’ve tried for years and years to appreciate them, but still can’t get past certain aspects of their style that kind of annoy me (mainly the inflexibility of Anderson’s vocals, but also the lack of memorable themes and interesting twists in their pieces). I did kind of like A Passion Play at one point, but that’s really only for Forest Dances I & II.
