The Deluxe Edition CD is probably the best this will ever sound...unless Tony can locate the multitracks and remix it.

That said, there are some great Sab tunes on there, and Zero The Hero has some of the most insane lead work Tony has ever done.

Copyright crap and using his image without his consent or something to that effect. All part of the contract squabble with 13 and the subsequent tour.

First 3 for me since I only considered the original band. Probably would move Heaven and Hell above MOR if I added in the other versions of the band.

Agree, Zero the Hero is a strong song. Can anyone compare the original vinyl versus the crappy CD?

You know, after listening to this yesterday I have to change my top three to Vol. 4, Sabotage, and Paranoid with Sabbath Bloody Sabbath knocking on the door. Megalmania, The Writ, Hole In The Sky, pinnacle level Sabbath. Supertzar sounds freakin' fantastic on vinyl, adds mch more depth than the CD listen. Masterpiece period. I for one love the change of direction and varied songs on the SBS and Sabotage albums.

So I'm that guy that didn't really like 13 that much outside of a song or two? Hm.

I own everything Dio has ever put to tape and Heaven Aand Hell ranks very highly in the Dio cannon. Still i have to rate it behind the first six with Ozzy and about on par with Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die.

Considering where they were at that stage in their careers it was a very strong effort. I think some were turned off by the regurgitated tunes but I think they did a great job of capturing the old sound just unfortunate that it was brickwalled to hell. I think the one comparison point where it does not hold up to the early albums is clearly the vocals although Ozzy did a fine job overall. Due to the DR rating of 4-5 that makes your ears bleed and the monotone Ozzy I can't rate it higher than any of the early stuff. Still very glad they released it and I probably would rate it higher when it first came out but somehow the excitement level has slightly worn off. The vinyl does sound quite a bit better than the Cd though.

Try the vinyl issue, it's right much better, IMO.

Yeah, it's probably my all-time favorite record. Easily top three of anything I've ever heard.
