Yeah, 20 Granite Creek was released on CD in Germany on Line Records. It's also seen release in the US on Matthew Katz's "San Francisco Sound" label but it's long out of print and fetches stupid money online.

There's something hypnotic about this song.

Sorry Davmar77 but I can only like that once as opposed to 100 or so times. Watched it dozens of times last week. If only there was a lot more film of them in action.

Yeah, I was lucky to have lived in San Fran in the mid-70's when they were still playing, and in small clubs. It was a great time.

Can I add this one? A best of the rest (after the debut) from Edsel that would have made a perfect second album.

Is it any coincidence that the best three Grapes-the first three- are the ones Katz slapped the injunction on? (I don't know the whole story but there's a reason those three Sundazeds are out of print according to Amazon)

It had to do with claims of ownership of the artwork or something equally ridiculous.

While it's live, given the new material, I'd have included Live Grape to the list.

It also affected the artwork on the reissues of the It's A Beautiful Day albums.

Reminds me of a song by another Katz band. Dolphins by It's a Beautiful Day.

Yes. The band won their case against Katz regarding his claims about ownership of band name, and Sony subsequently licensed the four Columbia albums to Sundazed for reissue. However, just a few weeks after the CDs were released the license was abruptly pulled by Sony, and Sundazed had to remove the first two albums from the market. No public explanation was given, but rumors were that Katz had claimed ownership of the album artwork and threatened to sue. Sony likely decided that whatever small amount they were making in licensing fees from Sundazed was not worth the trouble of spending money to defend against the Katz lawsuit, and so they withdrew the license from Sundazed.

The third and fourth albums were not affected by this and remained in print for several years. It appears they've now gone OOP, but that's presumably just due to lack of demand and/or the time-limited nature of any licensing agreement.

I have that one with the red background and the first It's A Beautiful Day on SFS CDs... didn't know any CDs were valuable these days... maybe I can take a bite out of my credit card bill next month? Thanks for letting me know, had no idea.

I bought the first two IABD cds from Amazon last summer and they were great, not expensive at all. No connection to Katz I assume.
