I'm brand spankin' new here so thought this would be a good first post. I'm 53 years old, I've been actively listening to music since I was 5 (first album: Rubber Soul), and have recently been going through a musical midlife crisis where I find myself listening to nothing but 90's thrash metal (Slayer/Slipknot/etc.) and the Wu-Tang clan. Still, it's cheaper than an expensive sports car and a high maintenance stripper girlfriend.

Oh and I'm vinyl all the way. Always have been, always will be.

General top five - no order - subject to almost constant revision:
    Beatles - Revolver
Throbbing Gristle - Jazz Funk Greats
    Captain Beefheart - Troutmask Replica
Brian Eno - Bush of Ghosts
Bill Nelson - Quit Dreaming and Get on the Beam

    The next five, just because:
    XTC - Mummer
Nick Cave - Let Love In
John Coltrane - A Love Supreme
Talking Heads - Remain in Light
They Might Be Giants - Flood

I prefer the track listing on the U.S. clash album, opening with Clash City Rockers is a great opener..

I have yet to hear UB44 , I was only focused on the first two albums and have been currently adding to my collection through discogs, it's on my list though..

I think Trick Of The Tail was a strong debut of the collins vocal era.. I love Volcano, Ripples and Los Endos plus Bruford as the tour drummer made that a great sounding tour...

Nice list, love Otis Blue, Roxy Music and Rio.. I remember Morcheeba but can't remember them to comment on, will add it to my listen list.. Same goes for the Arctic Monkeys, I know of them and heard songs but not albums.

Hey fellow vinyl lover welcome, kinda new here too.. Great list.. You made me laugh with, your mid life crisis remark.. I don't see it that way buddy, I just see it as widening your horizons.. I listen to Frank Sinatra and the Wu Tang Clan.. I don't limit myself musically, If I like what I hear then it doesn't matter what genre it s from, it will be added to my collection.. If you're not familiar with Kanye West music, try Graduation, Dark Twisted Fantasy and Yeezus.. Try not to be swayed by his public persona because his music is sublime..

Ha! If I did it wouldn't stray very far. Unlike the others I listed it's been at the top of my favorites since grade school back in the 80s.

Not crazy about self-depreciating comments that a given list may change tomorrow. But that's me.

I only said that because I knew that as soon as I post that I'd remember an album that I like more than one I listed. And I did.

Ten Summoners is catchier and fun, but I think Soul Cages is more cohesive and prettier...like a work of art...

Great choice for the 2000's - it would certainly make my short list for the last decade.
