CARS, DRIVING, RIDING, ALLEYS,HIGHWAYS, STREETS, BUSES, TRAINS, TUNNELS, BRIDGES ? Or any other means of transportation or traveling. I can only think of 3.
    1- "Point Blank"
    2- " Badlands"
    3- " Because The Night"

Of course there is "Dancing In The Dark", but is is in my 5 LEAST favorites.

Walking is traveling. Unless it is a limited distance. As in a room.

For me Badlands is all about driving across the country. I'll go with Candy's Room.

    "Lucky Town"

It contains the line "I been a long time walking on fortune's cane" but that would be metaphorical walking, not literal.

    Really tough exercise!

Good game....I thought about "Lucky Town," but through it out because of the above noted metaphorical walking, same thing with the "you've gone a million miles, how far'd you get" from "Secret Garden"

These are a couple of faves of mine though, and I think they meet the criteria:

    Kingdom of Days
    I'll Work for Your Love
    Candy's Room
    Thundercrack
    Wrecking Ball

Girls in Their Summer Clothes is one of Springsteen's greatest songs, but lovers are walking by right in the first verse and bicycle spokes spin....

This thread is akin to listing your Top 5:
    1. Shakespeare plays that do not reference ROYALTY, DIGNITARIES, MAGIC, etc
    2. John Steinbeck novels that do not reference POVERTY, INJUSTICE, CALIFORNIA, etc
3, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle mysteries that do not include SHERLOCK HOLMES
    4. Harlequin Romance novels that do not reference LUST, SCANDAL, SHAME, and LACE

(...I’m certain someone will prove me wrong...)

Thought I would get there with tougher than the rest, one of my favourite Bruce songs, but of course... the road is dark!

I'm still mad that Cover Me says driving snow although it's not a literal reference.

"Janey Don't You Lose Heart" fits, I think. Are you including lyrics where either he or the girl are leaving each other in the song as traveling?

Adam Raised a Cain fails the test -- because they fit you with positions and the keys to your daddy's Cadillac, so car mention.

I thought about Kitty's Back but -- she goes running nightly, lightly through the jungle, if walking is a disqualifier, running is; also she's seen down at the end of the alley; finally, the whole song is about traveling -- she left, now she's coming back.

Your Own Worst Enemy and Life Itself both would have made my lists if it were longer than five favorites. Wonderful songs and they both meet the test. I really like "Dancing in the Dark" too, though I always thought that chipper period arrangement was at odds with the song's sentiment. I much prefer what John Legend did with it.

I wouldn't agree the song is about her traveling...more that she's an elusive but enigmatic muse. But yeah, there is that running line.

Well, she did leave for some city dude, now she's back in town.
