I stopped paying attention pretty early on, but I'm happy for them for the career they've had and glad they're still around. And still just four guys.

Ohhhhhhh this is tough. If forced to stick to five:

    Unforgettable Fire
    With or Without You
    AllI I Want is You
    One
Until the End of the World

I’d love to list a few more to cover later years but I’ll be good.

Oh heck, Walk On, Yahweh, Kite, Magnificent, Zooropa, Stay(Far Away, So Close), Lemon! honorable mentions.

    Stay (So Faraway, So Close)

On another day some of these could be in the list:
One, Bad, New Year's Day, Pride, Running to Stand Still

Not Surprisingly no newer U2 songs. I haven't actually listened to their last two albums thoroughly. I guess I've lost hope for them to create truly great music again.

"Boy" is such a raw, melodic album. I think I'll have to take 5 from the debut alone:
    Twilight
An Cat Dubh --> Into the Heart (I'm counting it as one since the former gracefully transforms itself into the latter)
Out of Control (Can't choose the previous two without including this track, which also almost seems a part of the previous tunes)
    A Day Without Me
    Another Time Another Place

This is mostly though because of the album being for me a time in my life. I hear the songs and instantly feel transported back to the mid-80s (when I first heard it), and I can almost see my old friends all standing before me. It feels like home. Their later albums have some great songs, but for one reason or another, they're not "representative" of a time period or of a "feeling" I have when I think back on my life.

Honorable mentions, maybe? Promenade, Bad, I Fall Down, and the entire side 2 of Joshua Tree. Oh well, I'll be ready for a thread of U2's Top Ten or maybe Twenty.

Nigh on impossible to do only 5; but these ones had a massive impact on me

Bad. - especially the live version on wide awake in America

The unforgettable fire - what a track that is, unlike anything else they’ve done

With or without you - could pick loads from The Joshua Tree, but this is a classic

One - again, could pick all of achtung baby , but this is a great song all day every day

Moment of Surrender- absolutely the best song they’ve done in the last 10 years
