Suppers Ready! Since it's the length of about 7 songs, I'll stop there.

Yes - I do wonder whether this one may have been one of the triggers in Ant Phillips eventually leaving Genesis in late 1970.

I doubt it. Visions Of Angels was a song leftover from the recording sessions for FGTR two years earlier. I'd imagine Ant would have gotten over it by then. Plus I doubt Ant said to Peter or anyone else in the band - "Hey guys, wanna hear this new song I wrote about how I want to steal Peter's girlfriend away from him?" Peter and/or the others may have suspected the meaning of the song at the time (or not), but I highly doubt it would have been spoken about.

Ant left because of stage fright (his stated reason), band stress (the same stress that put Mike in hospital with an ulcer around the same time), ambitions for proper music training (piano/orchestrating/teaching), plus some I'm probably forgetting, plus some personal reasons he probably never expressed publicly.

Could romantic jealousies be a minor one among them? - sure. But a main reason? Highly doubtful.

I'd say at most it may have been considered a bonus side benefit.

I'm leaving for legitimate reasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 - and plus I get the added side benefit when I leave of not being so close to my unobtainable crush all the time.

My guess is that would be the closest it came (which is not very) to a being a factor in him leaving, plus the fact that the song (and likely his feelings) were so old by the time he left, that it may have been a complete non-issue by that time.

Snowbound is one of the worst songs I've heard by an artist I enjoy. Its inclusion on any list here is puzzling.

I didn't expect to see Naminamu on anyone's list, so congrats to you. I really like the synth sound in it.

I thought I had posted in this thread, but then I remembered: I couldn't narrow it down to only seven. I think I got stalled at eleven or twelve ...
