ZZ Top ‎– Original Album Series: what kind of masterings are there?

  2. Those should be the original CD masterings. When the complete Warners Box came out the first three albums were restored to their original mixes. They sound eq'd but not completely remastered. By the way (a little off subject), on the first three that were released in the mid 80s, they were remixed. There were no overdubs and no drum machines as lore likes to brag. Frank Beard is just that dam good

    Thank you, Larry. Asking because I have some brickwalled, compressed to death CD's in my edition of The Complete Studio Albums 1970-1990, sadly. I know they were supposed to be good, all of them.

  4. Early editions of this set had brick-walled versions of Eliminator. Later versions replaced this with a different mastering (not brick-walled) and included the extended single mix of "Legs" in place of the album version.

    What are the differences bewteen those two editions of the box - Eliminator only? What about ZZ Top's First Album - does not look well, too.
