Good Deals on amazon.com (part2)

It's because they jumped the marketplace shipping rates last year. Used to be about $7 to Australia, but is now twice that. Plus, buying direct from amazon you combine shipping but with marketplace orders you pay the same price for every item, even if buying two things from the one seller at once. It's made buying the 1-cent CDs much less attractive...

 

Thanks. That's why they wanted about $30 for two items! I generally find that I get a better deal from the UK marketplace sellers even when it's the same company selling on both sides of the Atlantic. For example it costs me less to buy from Rarewaves, rather than Rarewaves USA. British company, same items, but better value for us to Australia via Amazon.uk marketplace, rather than the American site. Craziness!

 

Yeah, i still use uk marketplace sellers often (shipping: $6.50/item approx) but almost never US one since the price hike. I know it's because of the rises the US post has imposed, but it generally wipes out the advantage marketplace sellers have for international buyers.

 

Got my Judas Priest sets a few minutes ago in perfect condition. I've never had a Sunday delivery before.

 

Good news! My copy still hasn't shipped, but Amazon still shows a delivery date of Wednesday, meaning it should ship on Monday. I am encouraged that it will ship. Yesterday, the only copies available by Amazon Prime were from a third-party seller, which made me skeptical. Today, it is in stock with Amazon, though it says it may take an extra 1-2 days to ship.

 

I was surprised to get it so fast especially considering that it was listed as back-ordered until March 10. I hope that everyone gets their orders OK.

 

My life's work reduced to $11.99! The horror!

Where it should be for quality sounding Priest (and to ensure the ones bought previously sell)

 

That's high compared to many similar box sets. For example, the regular price for a 10-disc ZZ Top box set is $40.

My understanding is that the Priest set isn't even well-mastered.

I sure hope Amazon dosen't keep using FedEx SmartPost for my 2-day deliveries. The Priest box is arriving tomorrow which makes it five days.

I never thought I would be so excited about getting some Judas Priest discs. I've been listening to my "Metal Works" discs to get psyched up for this.

 

OK, well 3 days without the weekend.

 

Keep in mind that set sounds a lot better than what you're about to get though.

 

Oh, I know. But I am still excited about the remastered first 2 albums, not represented on that set at all.

 

I've never been this excited about Judas Priest.
