I remember reading an interview with "Danno" and being heartbroken when he said he didn't like the Beatles.
Got a few here: Who says TV isn't intimate? Rob, Laura and a few onlookers on "The Dick Van Dyke Show" set, 1963. Concentration, 1962. Rehearsals of "The Price Is Right", NBC version. Arlene Francis hosting "Home"; mid 1950s. - Kevin
I remember those high-tech light-up dollar lights on the contestants' desk! Brings back memories. Here's Batman...
Why is Duane Allman on the set of Lost In Space ???? Edit : http://billmumy.com/mumy/galleries/music/friends/index.htm
A photo from the original Sale of the Century with Jack Kelly in 1969. Love that two-story set! Sadly, I have never seen an episode from the original version. Only the better-known 1983-1989 version with Jim Perry.
Is one of those guys the famous Glen Glenn of Glen Glenn Sound? I've never actually seen a photo of the guy!
Cool photo. Looks like a pretty crude / rough control room.....especially that flouresent light hanging over the control board.
Could be! I didn't have any id's for those in the picture besides Desi. I wonder if one could be Glen Glenn and one could be director Marc Daniels.
Magnum P.I. was a two-camera shoot? I always thought it was a one-camera shoot, given how much location filming there was. Isn't pretty much every other live-action drama, action/adventure, and dramedy a one-camera shoot?
No. In fact, I'd say 90% of all TV shows today are all shot A&B camera, usually with one camera shooting a 2-shot and the other camera shooting a close-up, or one camera shooting a wide-shot and the other camera shooting a medium shot. They're desperately trying to get enough coverage every shoot day to make the studio and editors happy. Note that now, everybody's shooting digital, so the costs formerly associated with film no longer exist. Unfortunately, as a result the crews tend to shoot much too much material, so wading through all that footage for post is a real nightmare. It's not unusual for a show to shoot 25+ hours of material for a final 42-minute run time.
