In the natural world Schiit happens. Yes I do agree.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I need an entry level TT and Phono Preamp for my man cave and this may just be the Schiit! If my Magni and Modi are any indication this model should order serious bang for the buck and punch way above its weight.

    Why no black option?

It also has a product called the USB Decrapifier. Great!

Are they out there yet? Specifically wanting to know gain options for my 10x5.

This is their new phono pre, right? I've been looking around but haven't seen anything yet. And not a peep on their website.

Yes they had it at a show so I'm surprised some basic info has not made it out.

I left them a message last week but no call back yet.

Hope to hear from them this week.

If you read through Jason Stoddard's memoirs over at Head-Fi (fantastic read by the way), you'll get a better understanding of why you will never hear from anyone at Schiit regarding a product that isn't ready to launch.

Detailed specs on the product page, to address the OP's question.

4 different gain stages, so the OP is set with gain adjustability.

Loading options restricted to 47 or 47K initially raised an eyebrow, but the I remembered this is a $129 phono stage and par for the course. I'd love to see how it compares to the $150 Emotiva XPS-1 (which to its credit can be loaded at 47, 100, 1000, or 47K).

It looks pretty good, and a steal at this price. I only wish it had a headphone section; if it did, I'd replace my Bellari VP130 with it.

  21. They used some nice amplifier chips. I'm surprised!

At 47 ohms, I wonder how many low output moving coil carts the Mani is appropriate for. I was under the impression that 100 ohms was a good "middle of the road" number for LOMC.

I noticed that as well, but I don't think a difference of 53 ohms are going to make a serious difference for most carts, not the ones that most folks will pair with a $120 phono stage at least. I'd guess they picked 47 ohms as it made for simpler engineering to toggle between 47 and 47K.

I want to know what turntables Mike Moffat has (Mike Moffat is one of the engineers at Schiit. The guy who does the DAC designs. The Theta guy. The old guy.)
What turntables and carts did it get tested with?

The FAQ for the Mani is less snarky than the FAQs for their other products. They might just be serious about this analog source stuff.

My DV20XL will roll off the highs at around 15khz at a 47ohm load. That's a pretty common MC cart with pretty standard specs even if it's a bit less likely to be used with a $130 phono stage. The mani will sound terrible with it. A big mistake by Schitt IMO, and one I bet gets corrected in future versions.
