Price watch - Bob Dylan and The Band Complete Basement Tapes

Now it's release day, I was wondering if Amazon UK would be reducing their £101 price. But, no, it's gone up to £115. Jokers.

 

What were the other prices (if that's not too much hassle)? Is Fopp's significantly less than other Glasgow shops? Would be the first time in a while that a shop was the cheapest place to get something!

...and £25 for the vinyl - surely too good to be true?

 

I just called Fopp again, their order did not arrive, the supplier told them it was out of stock, they are hoping their order will arrive this week sometime, he confirmed £70. He also said that the vinyl is £100 which he thought was rather strange. 'Love Music' quoted £100 for the 6 disk set. Still can't get HMV to answer the phone.

 

Thanks. You wonder if they (or their supplier) is getting mixed up between the two - vinyl is about £70 and box £100 on Amazon UK. Either way i'll be popping in some time this week to see. Might also get into Monorail if I can - they tend to be the cheapest in Glasgow quite often, and I'd rather give them my money unless somewhere else is far cheaper.

That's what's know as " preparing for a sale." Common retail practice.

Son used to work for Walgreen's, they'd raise prices 15%, in order to have a 10% off sale.

As a carpet cleaner, I'd tell ladies it was $15. per room, or I could do all 3 for $44.99.
