This photo is blowing my mind. But let's focus on the important guy in the middle. Gary Kellgren. Check out his first three year run here.

My friend, Chris Huston, at Talentmasters in NYC, 1967:

Chris has had a an amazing career, starting as the guitarist with Merseybeat band, the Undertakers, in Liverpool in the early '60s. Chris was pals with Lennon and was the guy who inspired Lennon to add a Bigsby tailpiece to his Rickenbacker 325. In fact, Lennon asked Chris to go with him to the shop to pick up the (special order) Bigsby, and Chris installed it on Lennon's guitar right there in the shop!

In the mid '60s, Chris relocated to the USA and began an engineering career, working on literally hundreds of legendary sessions by the Who, Rascals, Van Morrison, Led Zeppelin, War, etc. etc. etc. He currently lives in Nashville and is a consultant on studio design.

Don Law at the console with Owen Bradley. I know Don was a producer and A&R man for Columbia, not a recording engineer but it's a cool photo.

Ha! I worked for his son, Don Law Jr., the Boston promoter for 10 years and only heard one story about his dad. I'm paraphrasing from memory. He said one evening during the Robert Johnson recording sessions his dad was called to the phone while having dinner at a restaurant and it was Robert asking for money because "she won't unless she gets five dollars."
