    Sorry, I am not sure, but I can say that the Totentanz (played by Janis) on there is amazing an worth the cost of the CD!

    I have this CD in my collection as well. I was surprised to find Emma on this small label a few years ago but grabbed it anyway ...

    Dragged this nice CD from the depth of my Lute CD collection...Glad I did...Super relaxing for a rainy day...You don't tap your foot with this stuff, you tap your toes.:waiting:

    Yes…it's really good. Reiner's fastidious attention to detail really shines here, illuminating Rachmaninov's orchestration. And I agree with George P, the Totentanz is out of this world. The performance of Invitation to the Dance here is, to me, uniquely infectious. Speaking of the Rachmaninov Symphonies, this is my favorite 2nd…

    Looks like an excellent box but I already have at least 7 or 8 Complete Symphonies, including Berglund with the Helsinki Philharmonic on EMI ...

    The newer set on Ondine is supposed to be interpretively and sonically superior to the EMI set.

    There is no question on its sonic superiority since the EMI set was probably recorded half a century ago and the members of the orchestra have completely changed as well ...
